The Silver Banshee is a tall woman with flowing silver hair who looks like a
corpse. Her scream is fatal, and in her first encounter with Superman it seemed as though he had succumbed to her power.
This, however, proved to be an illusion supplied by the Martian Manhunter.
Superman learned from the Batman that the Silver Banshee was searching for a
particular book, which turned out to be a written history of her clan. Superman followed the Banshee back to her home in
Ireland and confronted her on her native soil, where the spirits that had forged her seemingly blasted her soul into
oblivion.
Many months later, however, the Silver Banshee returned to attack Superman. Her soul had
been rescued and put to service by the demon Blaze. However, when
her attack on the Man of Steel failed, she was again cast into darkness.
