Last February, stephens666 requested that we create a Kon-El forum.  Check out the original thread here.

I created it, but the traffic in that forum seems to have died down.  Does anyone have any feelings about whether or not it should be merged into the (Silver Age) Superboy forum?  Pro or kon?

I don't think I've ever contributed to the Kon-El forum, so maybe I don't deserve a vote.  But it seems to me that some good arguments can be made to merge it with the "Superboy" forum:

1. Kon-El no longer has his own book, and now that he's in the 30th Century he isn't likely to appear often in Superman's books.  That means forum traffic will probably be even slower in coming months than it has been up to now.

2. The Superman forum entertains posts on Golden, Silver, Bronze and Modern Age Superman without forcing them into separate areas, so there's already a precedent for merging.  Granted, Clark Superboy and Kon Superboy are two distinct people, but most of us don't see a lot of resemblance between pre- and post-Crisis Clark, either.

3. Likewise, Linda, Kara and Cir-El share a single "Supergirl" forum, so why not Kon and Clark (and the new guy coming soon in that graphic novel)?

4. With Kon's move to the Legion, he is becoming closer to the old version of Superboy anyway.  Comparisons between his Legion adventures and those of young Clark might make for interesting talk on a combined board, where experts on both characters would be brought together.  Similarly, the "Superboy" forum should be the place to go for Legion discussions, pre- or post-Crisis, rather than giving them their own forum.

Hello,

I can live with Smallville non-hero Clark (original Shuster/Siegel concept)and I can live with Superboy pre-crisis.
I've probably read two post-crisis Superboy stories (well, the kid with glasses).  Maybe three at the very most if I'm generous.  I would not read these stories for free.
So, I guess you could regroup some of these forums together (+ isn't Kon-El discontinued as a monthly mag?)...

I just got around to looking in the Kon-El forum and discovered that Super Monkey already started a poll!  Sorry about that, Beppo, I didn't realize I was duplicating your efforts.

That's ok!

My idea was to merge the Superboy forums and maybe created a Legion Forum in it's place. What do you guys think about that idea?

I don't know about the merge (sigh, honesty compels me to say I don't care if Kon-el is merged or deleted.  I don't like the character and have not followed him)

But I think the Legion forum is a good idea.  (be warned, there is still a lot of...friction...in the LSH forums I have seen.  Mostly between pre and post boot fans) Smiley
