The K-METAL from KRYPTON!

The Metropolis Museum of Art

Below is the only known surviving appearance of the Metropolis Museum of Art building as it appeared in the original 1940 K-Metal artwork:

Jerry Siegel's script called for the museum to make it's first appearance on page 4, one of the many lost pages.  This meant that in order to draw the missing page, artist Angel Criado had to extrapolate from these 2 panels how the rest of the building would look.  In researching reference material he notes:
"The Art Deco movement of architecture was well into full swing at the time I presume the museum was designed and built.  So—I realized this building needed to be that way.  In doing web research, I was looking for Art Deco buildings and the closest approximation that I could find to what was on page 5 was the Daily News Building in New York City—but it was really perfect for this.  I added the flower bed, etc. to match page 5's building."
Below is the final version of the museum entrance.  The flow from our all-new version of page 4 to the Siegel Studio page 5 is seamless and smooth.
